Planned Parenthood Caught Lying about Abortion Cash

This is what happens when the everyday truth of what you are been paid to do just happens to be unspeakable. You lie and you lie some more.  In the meantime our whole culture has accepted the medical practice of abortion  in its imagined sanitized form which certainly does not exist in the later stages.

Worse, the consequences to the women involved is literally dismissed and almost unimagined.

Men have been intimidated into avoiding the subject itself as well.

Yet there exists a massive social and moral conflict here that has been buried from inception and Planned Parenthood has led the whitewash.  This is going to be a difficult problem and it is no longer acceptable as a business because business motives are in direct conflict with social intent..

I would love lay out a solution but fear no solution will be finally acceptable.

The first problem is that we need to restructure the whole child rearing culture itself to transition away from the nuclear family model to a mother based communal system.  This means major changes in the real design of communities as well in order to ensure the centrality of shared child rearing.

This will naturally put a premium on all children and protect all mothers from financial and social pressure.  This has become blindingly necessary from the steady fall off in birth rates.  Tweaked correctly, abortion will become rare and associated with immediate action after conception or for legitimate medical reasons.

It means a radical rethinking of the way we work together to raise families.

Planned Parenthood caught lying about abortion cash

Planned Parenthood President, Cecile Richards hauled before Congress yesterday to answer questions about millions of dollars spent on political activities, travel and lavish salaries.

But the real fireworks came when Rep. Cynthia Lummins, R-WY, proved that Richards and Planned Parenthood have been misleading Americans for years about how important abortions are to the organization’s business.

Richards and other Planned Parenthood representatives have long claimed that abortions only account for 3% of Planned Parenthood’s total procedures.

But under examination, Richards admitted that abortions actually account for a staggering 86% of Planned Parenthood’s non-federal revenue.

The organization’s 3% claim is being called a ‘pathetic lie’ by multiple news sources, and the organization’s rationale was explained in a recent Op-Ed by National Review editor Rich Lowry:

Such cracked reasoning could be used to obscure the purpose of any organization. The sponsors of the New York City Marathon could count each small cup of water they hand out (some 2 million cups, compared with 45,000 runners) and say they are mainly in the hydration business.

Or Major League Baseball teams could say that they sell about 20 million hot dogs and play 2,430 games in a season, so baseball is only .012 percent of what they do.

In other words, while Planned Parenthood may provide dozens of services, abortion is where it makes its money.

Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, said the panel’s examination of tax and other documents also showed that the group has given $22 million over the past five years to its political affiliate, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. He said it also spent more than $5 million on “exorbitant” travel in 2013 and paid Richards — who sat at the witness table in front of him — a massive annual salary of more than $500,000 a year.

According to Chaffetz, as well as reports from the Live Action News, Richard’s has gotten a raise every year since 2011, and her salary has ballooned by 40% in that time period.

Richards’ appearance marked the group’s first public face-to-face encounter with Republicans since videos apparently showing Planned Parenthood reps selling fetal tissue elevated abortion — and a drive to block Planned Parenthood’s federal payments — to a top-tier political issue.

Several Republican presidential hopefuls have condemned Planned Parenthood for its work providing fetal tissue. And conservatives’ demands that Congress cut the group’s federal payments — for which Republicans lack the votes to succeed — indirectly contributed to the GOP unrest that prompted House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to announce his resignation last week.

Chaffetz said that the group’s infusion of federal money lets it use its non-federal dollars for politics.

“That has absolutely nothing to do with young women who need a breast exam,” said Chaffetz. “It’s a political organization.”

Democrats have used a Senate filibuster — a virtually endless procedural delay — to block GOP legislation halting Planned Parenthood’s federal payments. So two House committees plan to approve filibuster-proof legislation shifting Planned Parenthood’s Medicaid funds — about $350 million — to community health centers.
